The Exchange works with many other organizations throughout the year on many initiatives that enhance our Main Street, our town, and our region, making it the place that we want to live, work, and play.

In the fall, we coordinate Halloween window-painting in Bloomsburg -- a half-century tradition (photos above), working with dozens of businesses and middle- and high schools from throughout Columbia Country.  In 2022, the students painted more than 80 windows, and we gave out prizes to the top six windows -- three by high school students, three by middle schoolers.  In 2020, the event had gone smaller scale; click here for the prize-winning artwork.

Also in October, a consortium of non-profits -- AGAPE, the Children's Museum, the Bloomsburg YMCA, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, and The Exchange -- puts on a family-friendly festival called "BOO!burg", with two blocks of 7th Street closed to traffic and activities for children on the street and in the Y parking lot as well as inside the Museum.  The Art Cart always makes an appearance, and the event reaches its culmination with the tossing of pumpkins from Bloomsburg Fire Department's ladder truck (see below).  As with so much of what we do, BOO!burg would not happen without the enthusiastic participation of many for-profit supporters, from Rohrbach's Farm Market (the pumpkin source) to the businesses that sponsor Trunk-or-Treat stops to the supermarkets that donate food for the marshmallow-and-hot-dog roasting on the fire pit on the =center line of 7th Street.

2020's BOO!burg went virtual; see the pumpkin drop here.
